| Whither? The murals lining the main hall at Burlingame High School are the work of Frederick Alexander Pawla, a member of the Royal British Academy, who also has work in the War Department Building in Washington, D.C. Where the murals should be hung is the topic under discussion at B.H.S. Pawla, according to Mrs. Betty Hoag, archivist for the San Mateo County Historical Association, was born in England in 1877, and was a member of the Santa Barbara and San Diego art associations as well as exhibiting in the State Fair in Sacramento while living in San Mateo. Mrs. Hoag considers Pawla to be a California artist of "high repute" with the murals in the high school "typical" of the work done under federal art projects.
